Feel Like Munching?–Use Distraction

If you’re in the mood to munch, but feel low on energy (which means you have no intention of going for a walk) consider logging onto the computer and playing a word game, or puzzle, or card game. There are a lot of free ones out there. If you’re on Facebook, you can find a lot of games (called applications). Sometimes you can even play with friends.

Try sipping some water while you play and see if that stops the craving. If not, hopefully, by the time you’re done playing, you’ll have to be on to another activity and you won’t have time to munch.

Escape to New Orleans

New Orleans makes for a great long weekend getaway. The city is like none other I have ever seen. They have great music, food, and offer wonderful tours. They are steeped in a fascinating and peculiar history. And, when the locals see you on tour, they wave and ask you to let people know what a great time you had. Tourism is part of their economy and it’s down since Katrina.
So, if you’re interested in a fun weekend a way, New Orleans is without a doubt one of the greatest cities I’ve ever been to.

Allergy Season–Natural Remedy

When my spring allergies are acting up, I opt for local honey over prescription meds. That might mean my allergies aren’t that bad, but it seems worth a shot and it tastes so good on toast or just eaten right out of the jar. In this case a spoon full of sugar really does help the medicine go down.
