Wednesday Challenge

Challenge your body and your mind. Can you remember 35 different Pilates exercises? Test your memory by trying to do at least 5 different Pilates exercises every day this week. Can’t remember 35? Do the same five each day every day this week without skipping a day. Do you feel any better by adding that onto your schedule? It doesn’t take more than five minutes per day.

Gyrokinesis

About a week ago the Personal Euphoria team got together to take a class. About four times a year we try to get together and take a different class or workshop together–something that isn’t Pilates.

We all love movement so we are open to trying new things, but what I like best about our little adventurous outings is that it always reminds me how someone completely new to Pilates feels in my class. Half the time I had not idea what I was doing. I was constantly questioning the movement and wondering if I was doing everything right. You always have to try and let go and know that you’re not going to do everything right your first time out. It takes practice. At some points during the class I’d hear one (or more) of us chuckle because we didn’t know what we doing. But that’s okay. That’s half the fun.

Private Pilates Classes in Wethersfield

Personal Euphoria Pilates is now offering private Pilates classes in Wethersfield. Classes are made by appointment only and incorporate some of the Pilates equipment (the reformer, the chair, the ladder barrel).

Are you a current student that would just like a few private sessions to help hone your practice? Have you found that your group classes have helped you so much that you’d like to add a class that is even more specific to your body, or do you just love the exercises and want to learn more?

Mourning Mt. Madison

On the second day of a recent hike, we stuffed our packs and headed up the mountain once again. We wanted to reach the top of Mt. Madison (elevation 5,367 feet). The night before the weather predicted was ice and snow, so when we woke up and found the weather to be gray, chance of rain and winds of up to 65 mph, we were actually pleased.
Once we’d gotten above the treeline, where views were only popping up occasionally when the clouds and fog would disperse, roughly 40 mph winds were a constant. I was chilled to the bone whenever I stopped for a break. Moving was the better option.
After lunch we decided to go the last half mile up to the summit of Mt. Madison. I was excited and the wind was really blowing. How I Feel After Pilates

One thing I know for sure is this:

On the mornings that I start my day with Pilates I feel taller all day. I stand taller and it feels easier to do so. And that feeling makes me happy and glad to know that Pilates exists.
