I don’t know how I grew up in Connecticut and didn’t hear about the Thimble Islands until a couple of years ago, but I did. I must be living in a hole. President Taft, Tom Thumb, Garry Trudeau, and Captain Kid all have a connection to the islands. You’ll have to go on a Sea Mist cruise (leaves out of Branford) to find out what that connection is, but it will totally be worth it.

I’ve been waiting a couple of years to get down there and it was wonderful. The cruise was great. Captain Mike was fun, knowledgeable, and has a fabulous voice. The weather couldn’t have been better. It was a great way to spend a morning, and I highly recommend it for families and friends of all ages.
